I had the exciting opportunity to work with Echo Wu, when she approached me to create a logo for her new show - Jentry Chau vs the Underworld.

From the jump, Echo emphasized the importance of having the show logo feature two distinct yet harmonious styles. "Jentry Chau" needed to evoke a youthful, dynamic feel, drawing inspiration from Y2K design trends and elements seen in K-pop logos. This direction was meant to embody the character herself and reflect the energy, modern aesthetic of the target audience.

 

"Underworld", was intended to embody its darker, more sinister tones - eliciting a sense of evil and the demonic. Drawing from Taoist talismans for the shape language, this style also pays homage to the Chinese mythological symbolism at the core of the show’s themes.
